Glucose Test

I had to take the 3 hour glucose sugar test since I failed the first one. :( It's a routine test for pregnancy because it will detect gestational diabetes. The 1 hour test is a breeze, but the 3 hour is rough. First you must fast for 12 hours, get your blood drawn, drink a yucky, syrupy, sugary drink, and then get your blood drawn 3 more times in 3 hours(also without eating or drinking). So altogether 15 hours without food, that's a LONG time for a pregnant girl. Anyway... I PASSED!! Praise God, since many of you know to change my diet would be almost impossible. I also passed my iron test, which is a surprise to some people. I thank God for such a healthy pregnancy so far. I guess I shouldn't complain about all of my other aches and pains.

Isnt that syrup gross !!! how can they make pregnant woment take that nasty stuff and than not eat !!!!!!!!! i threw up the junk when i had liv, i was so sick i didnt keep anything down. I am sooooo happy things are going great, just think you only have just a little bit longer to go and you will be a mommy :)

Not eating for that long is the worst when pregnant.
Not too much longer and you'll get to hold that little one. I pray everything continues to go so well. See you at your shower!! I can hardly wait :)

I never had that problem with none of the three boys. You are getting so much closer. I can't wait to see your little one :)

Steph, I've heard a lot of women get sick during the test. At least the sugar problem goes away after the pregnancy.

Pam, I'm so glad you will be coming to the shower. Can't wait to see you, and that little guy. :)

There is a girl in our MOPS group that had gestational diabetes, and her sugar problem never went away after she had the baby. Poor thing. She still eats cookies, though. :)

Tammy, yes Dean told me he was over 8 lbs. My brother, sister, and I were all over 8 too, and my sister just a little boy at 8lbs. 14oz. This could be a big baby girl. Maybe I'll go a couple weeks early, 7lbs sounds good to me. :)

Sarah, you will see me this weekend, we can take belly pics then. You can help me take some good ones, instead of me trying to do it myself or having the boys do it. :)
