Good News

I'm going to be an aunt again......and no Kara's not pregnant(that I know of). he he :) My sister just called to tell me her and her husband are expecting. She hasn't seen a doctor yet, so I don't have any details, but I'm very excited for them. They live in Washington right now, and will be moving back to Michigan in June. I can't wait to see them again.

I'm done!!

I am finally done with school, my last class was yesterday. I stayed up all night to finish and also took the day off of work. It has been a very long road, and I couldn't have done it without the love and support from my family and friends. God has surely blessed me. It will be official on May 12th when I get to walk, there will probably be a post for that too.

If anyone is interested I have an online portfolio of my work at www.laurieabennett.com. I'm now hoping to do some freelance work on the side. The first thing I want to do is finish up with the Immanuel Bible Church logo and website I have helped with. Cathy would like to start using the logo, letterhead, envelopes, and business cards I have designed, I just need to get her the correct files. So, if you know of anyone in need of some design work, keep me in mind.

My new toy

My wonderful husband bought this new laptop for me. It was such a surprise! It is my graduation present, which will be in May, it's been a long road. I want to start doing freelance design work when I'm done with school, and he thought this might help me get started. A few years ago I swore I would never own a Mac, but now that I am designing I love them!

Sleepover

Rachel spent the night at our house, and got to sleep in uncle Dean's spot since he was out of town working. She was very excited, and said it was so quiet without boys around. I think she looks very little in this big bed. Oh, and she snores. :)

Wedding Pics

Some of you I know have seen my wedding pictures, but for those that haven't I thought I would post a few of my favorites. Dean and I were married on a beach in LaJolla, CA called the wedding bowl. It was very nice and I just love the pictures.

Remodeling - Part 2

Okay, here is our master bedroom and bath. We gutted everything, and started new.

We are still trying to decide what to do for closet doors. We also need to get blinds on the windows.

























My hubby successfully completed his first tiling job, and I think it looks great.

Remodeling

This used to be our very 'BLUE' room, and now it is Jacob's room. I wish I had some 'before' pictures. Anyway, we ripped up the ugly carpet, and the hardwood floors were pretty nice, so we didn't have to replace carpet. Then painted the walls and trim, Dean did a very nice job....he's pretty handy. Jacob loves football, especially the Patriots, so we got him some football team stuff, and the furniture is from IKEA. Cool store and decent prices if you don't mind assembling the furniture yourself.
